Good Shepherd Lutheran Church serves the picturesque rolling hills and river bluff farming communities of Plainview, Elgin and Millville, with a combined population of approximately 4,600. Our membership is largely composed of young families with children. Employment includes professionals for Mayo Medical Systems, IBM in Rochester, PEM Schools, Lakeside Foods in Plainview. Other members are employed in agricultural and related businesses. We are in close proximity to a multitude of cultural resources and educational opportunities including; Luther Seminary, Augsburg College, St. Olaf College, Carleton College and Luther College, along with four state and community colleges and the University of Minnesota. All are within a ninety minute drive. Local recreational activities include walking paths, bike trails, Whitewater State Park, the Root and Mississippi River’s boating and fishing activities.
